Stop Hand-Sanding The Fiddly Bits
TRADEgear XPT Profile Sanding
Stop hand-sanding
the fiddly bits.
Architraves, banisters, window returns, stair treads — the bits that turn a half-day job into a full one. XPT is high-density foam with the abrasive already bonded on. It compresses into the profile instead of bridging over it, so you sand the shape on the machine instead of folding paper round it by hand.

The 18mm pad on a handrail. The foam takes the shape of the profile — the abrasive stays in contact all the way round the curve, not just on the high points.
Watch it follow the profile
No folding, no re-cutting, no chasing the shape with your fingertips.
A flat sander only ever touches the high points
That's why profiles get done by hand — and why they take so long. A thin interface pad doesn't fix it either: it runs out of give before it reaches the bottom of the moulding, so you flatten the detail you're being paid to keep.
XPT pads are deep enough to deform properly. The 18mm is the deepest ready-to-sand pad in the category — most stop around 13mm — and the abrasive is already bonded to the foam, so there's no separate sheet to buy, cut and stick on.
If it's got a curve, this pad sands it
Skirtings and architraves. Handrails and banisters. Stair treads and risers. Window returns and sashes. Reeded and fluted panelling. Door frames, chair legs, table legs, cabinet doors, gutters and fascia.

12mm or 18mm?
Same colour system, same fit. The difference is how deep the profile is.

12mm Standard — 15 pack
$44.00
Everyday profile work — architraves, door frames, skirting, window returns, general flat and lightly-contoured surfaces.
Coarse · Medium · Fine · Very Fine · Mixed box
Shop 12mm18mm Thick — 10 pack
$43.45
Deep and rounded profiles — banisters, handrails, stair treads, chair and table legs, heavy mouldings, anything a shallower pad bridges straight over.
Coarse · Medium · Fine · Mixed box — the three grits deep profile work actually calls for.
Shop 18mmOne colour system, no guesswork

Green is Coarse. Yellow is Medium. Orange is Fine. Blue is Very Fine. That holds across the whole XPT range — the same colour means the same grit whether you've got the 12mm, the 18mm or the Delta in your hand. Grab the right one off the van without reading the box.
Very Fine is available in the 12mm and the Delta. The 18mm runs Coarse, Medium and Fine — the grits deep profile work actually calls for.
$44 gets you 15 pads here
The 12mm standard pad is a 15 pack for $44. Comparable foam-backed profile abrasives are sold in 10 packs at the same price — and those ranges stop at three grits with no Coarse at all, so stripping heavier buildup sends you looking for a different product.
Same money. Fifty percent more pads. And Coarse when you need it.
Built to last a real week on site
Painters routinely report OEM interface pads tearing within the first few uses — then paying around $30 to replace the pad, before buying any abrasive at all. XPT is long-life foam with the abrasive bonded on: one part, no delamination, no re-sticking sheets mid-job.
16 holes. Real dust extraction.
Sixteen extraction holes matched to Festool and Mirka 80 × 133mm sanders, so dust is pulled as you sand rather than settling into the profile. Cleaner air on site, a cleaner surface for the next coat, less clogging. Some interface pads have no extraction holes at all.
Fits the sander you already own
Hook-and-loop mounting straight onto Festool and Mirka 80 × 133mm orbital sanders. Delta pads suit 100 × 150mm delta machines. No adaptor, no interface pad, no separate abrasive sheet.

Running a Delta? 100 × 150mm — 15 pack
Same foam, same colour system, shaped for delta sanders and the corners a rectangular pad can't reach. $49.50.
