Why the line bleeds in the first place
Cheap tape looks the same on the roll. The difference shows up when you pull it — paint lifted with the tape, a ragged edge where it bled underneath, or adhesive residue left behind on a surface you can't sand back. That's not bad technique, it's the wrong tape for the job.
TRADEgear's four-tape range exists because one tape can't do every job well. An everyday indoor wall doesn't need the same tape as an aluminium window frame in direct sun, and fresh paint doesn't need the same adhesion as a 30-day-old wall.

What surfaces and environments is TRADEgear tape suitable for?
Designed for everyday masking on both indoor and outdoor jobs. Performs best on smooth to semi-smooth surfaces including painted walls, timber, plaster, metal and glass.
Can it withstand spray pressure?
Suitable for use with all paint types, whether applied by sprayer, roller or brush. We don't recommend directly spraying the tape, but its high adhesion strength will withstand indirect spray pressure.
Will it remove cleanly on exterior metal joinery in hot conditions?
In Australia's hotter climates, or for extended use on metal joinery exteriors, we recommend TRADEgear's Pro Japanese Washi tape for the cleanest removal.
Which tape do I actually need?
All Day 30 for everyday indoor/outdoor jobs. Pro Precision for outdoor work and aluminium window frames. Japanese Washi for any-weather outdoor jobs needing the sharpest line. Pro Delicate for freshly painted or sensitive surfaces.
